All of us manage risk in our day to day life by buying insurance cover for our life, house, car etc, so why not do risk management for the project. Risk Management is a key responsibility of the project manager.

Risk management is one of the project management disciplines which have a direct impact on the project success or failure. A better risk management ensures that you are prepared for the unforeseen circumstances and when they actually happen, you can handle it well. Some Project managers show helplessness in case of some external disturbances like workers strike. But good managers do not. They do plan for such risk and have a ready work around.

However, all real projects carry risk through uncertainty. The most obvious examples of sources of project risk comes from:

* dependencies (internal or external)

* assumptions made by project team members (about any aspect of the project).

There are 4 stages in the Project Risk management process :

1. Risk Identification

In this stage, we identify and name the risks. There are different sorts of risks and we need to decide on a project basis. Business risks are ongoing risks that are best handled by the business. Generic risks are risks to all projects.

2. Risk Quantification

Risk need to be quantified in 2 dimensions. The impact of the risk needs to be assessed. The probability of the risk occurring needs to be assessed. If probability is high, and impact is low, it is a Medium risk. On the other hand if impact is high, and probability low, it is High priority.

3. Risk Response

A risk response plan should include the strategy and action items to address the strategy. The actions should include what needs to be done, who is doing it, and when it should be completed.

4. Risk Monitoring and Control

The final step is to continually monitor risks to identify any change in the status, or if they turn into an issue.

At the start of a project, the potential impact of risk is almost unlimited. The simple choice is to either dedicate proper and timely attention to understanding and managing risk, or suffer its consequences. On large projects, there are few areas where a Project manager can have a greater impact on a project than the area of risk.

Do you think you can find someone who lives in a certain address? Actually finding out about someone who lives at a certain address is easy. So how do I find out who lives at a certain address? – All you need is a computer with an online connection and the full address of the person.

Perhaps you want to find out about your neighbour’s name and to invite them to some bbq party or even a party just to show your family to them. Instead, you can also find out about an indiviual who you think have been stalking you all this while or maybe you want to find out about the name of the cute guy/girl who lives down the street.

There are a couple of easy ways to check out about a person who lives at a certain address, for instance:

i) Doing a Google search to look for property assessor or tax records of that county you are living in. More often than not, the records are usually kept online in a huge database and all you need to do is to enter the full address in the search bar and the result will come out with the name of the owner with more information. However, if the records are not kept in an online database, you will not be able to find who lives at a certain address.

ii) Another option, you can fork out some money from your wallet and pay for a service, which is called the “people finder”. These services are not cheap, so use them only if you have to use them. They are able to use the public records that contains a large collection of information which include the information you are looking for, who lives at a certain address.

iii) you can use white pages directory, which is readily found on the WWW. All you need to do is to search for reverse address lookup in the search engine if you do not know the website url. Once you are in the website, you need to enter the address of the particular person who are looking for and the names and telephone numbers of the person will appear. However, if the person does not own a listen telephone number, he/she will not appear on the search that you have just performed in the reverse address directory.

1. How many persons has Paul baptized? Paul made the answer confusing as he says:

* I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,
* So no one can say that you were baptized into my name.
* Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas;
* Beyond that, I do not remember if I baptized anyone else.

2. Paul claims that the Lord God said: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise”. Why the Lord God said that?

As a matter of fact, Paul’ statements about “the foolishness of God” and “the weakness of God” are Very Rude, Very Offensive, Very Impolite and Very Ill-Mannered. I have no saying about that since Paul is not mentioned in the Quran; however, I will assent to the smart reader to answer this question: Who is foolish and weak, God or Paul?

In the Quran’s teaching, anyone who says “the foolishness of God” and/or “the weakness of God” is certainly a disbeliever and will end up in the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter.

In addition, the Quran does not classify mankind to Jews and Gentiles.

Also, it is well known that Wisdom is the profitable knowledge that leads to righteous action, speech and opinion.

In Verse 2:269, Allah mentioned His favor, saying that He gives wisdom, to whomever He will, and he who is given wisdom, has been given abundant good, because he will end up in perpetual bliss.

That is why, in Verse 20:114, Allah commanded his Prophet Muhammad (and the believers) to say in their prays ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge, memorization and understanding’

Learning craft techniques is not always easy. There are instructions to be mastered — or at least understood. There are steps to follow, skills to practice and projects to finish. Some techniques of course are easier to pick up than others and it depends on your persistence and experience in how well and how quickly you master them. It is definitely not always easy, but it is worth it. And craft programs can give you a head start. The idea of a craft program makes perfect sense. They are usually written by a teacher, or at least someone experienced in craft. This fact alone means that the way they are put together is structured, and carefully considered. They will have thought through how to instruct you long distance. They will have an understanding of how to share information so that you can pick things up as painlessly as possible. And they should be able to demonstrate their own expertise somehow by showing you what to do. If you are to learn new skills the right way, you need to learn them first by someone who shows you carefully and precisely. I am often asked by students to show them the quickest and easiest way to do things. I believe I do that by showing them everything they need to know so that they can learn what they need. There are no shortcuts to learning on the first occasion. It is only the 2nd, 3rd and subsequent times as you repeat the skills you learned that you have some idea on where to take any shortcuts. As a National Judge and Assessor it is my job to instruct people well. So I need to be able to speak it, show it and share it. It is in sharing our craft skills that we pass things on to the next generation. So communicating well is vital. And that is especially true of any online craft course or craft program. Because they are well planned to give you what you need you should feel as you follow them that you are well instructed. The need to have confidence that for one they know what they are talking about, and second, that they can tell it in plain English. There is sometimes a gap between an expert and a teacher. You will need to decide if your chosen craft program can deliver on the craft techniques you aspire to learn. It is vital that we learn from someone who knows their stuff inside out. Learning craft techniques should be easy, if you are shown by a craft teacher.

Judge Mathis, star of the syndicated court show named after him, grew up in the housing projects in Detroit. He was involved in gangs. He spent time in jail. How did he pull himself out? After learning that his mother had cancer, Mathis decided it was time to change the course of his life. He was offered probation, if he entered a GED program. He didn’t stop at a GED. He went on to college and law school, and he became the youngest superior court judge ever to serve in Michigan.

Judge Mathis’s story is an exceptional one. Over one third of prison inmates–37 percent in 2003–do not have a high school diploma or a GED. With a prison record and no diploma, few potential jobs are available for these prisoners on release. In 2002, the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics reported that 67% of inmates released from state prisons in 1994 committed at least one serious crime in the three years following their release. A recent study suggests; GED education can be a positive step for both inmates and overcrowded prison systems.

John Nuttall authored the study “The Effect of Earning a GED on Recidivism Rates,” which includes data on three groups of inmates in the New York State Department of Correctional Services. The study tracked inmates who earned a GED while incarcerated, inmates who already had a high school diploma or GED, and inmates who did not earn a GED while incarcerated. Inmates who earned their GED were significantly less likely to return to custody within three years. Offenders under the age of 21 who earned their GED were 14% less likely to return to prison within three years, while prisoners over 21 were 5% less likely to return to prison after earning a GED. GED programs are not new in correctional facilities, but correctional facilities often have limited funding, and many inmates do not function well in traditional school environments. Technology-based educational tools have vast potential benefits for correctional facility environments. Multi-media educational software offers learners the ability to work at their own pace, appeals to multiple learning styles, and can be enjoyable and involving. Software-based GED preparation programs are also inexpensive to implement.

The potential return on an investment of $50 to $200 per adult learner for a software-based GED prep program could be significant, considering the costs of re-incarcerating a prisoner. The U.S. Department of Justice reports an average cost of $24,440 a year per Federal prisoner, and in some state prison systems, the costs are even higher.

Recidivism doesn’t only mean more crowded prisons and a more costly society. More crimes are being committed, leading to a higher crime rate. The GED is only one step to former inmates’ success after prison, but it is an important one. Technology makes GED education affordable and effective.
